In her words ...

Brandon and I matched on Hinge in August of 2023. He may have made the first move and liked my profile but I got him hooked with my opening line ruthlessly shaming him for being a Leafs fan. Leading up to our first date and doing my background checks aka facebook creeping, I realized we had a mutual friend (shoutout to Jade!). Jade and Brandon had gone to University together and when asked about Brandon, she had nothing but positive things to say about him. This gave me the confidence to move forward with our first date. Talking to Brandon had always felt effortless and safe, which made me feel more comfortable sharing openly about myself and the kids with him. Terrified what his reaction would be, especially because I was already starting to like him, he had been nothing short of amazing. Our first date was at Nosehill Park, and we just talked for hours, he even asked me if I would have more kids. I left what was supposed to be a quick and casual walk-around-the-park date four hours later, and immediately texted my sisters that I may have just found the love of my life. We connected over our interests in sports, our upbringings, the love for our families, our dogs, and music. Brandon quickly and effortlessly merged himself into my families lives as well, and its as if he had been apart of it the entire time. Marriage was something we knew was going to happen for us as our relationship grew. Shortly after our two year anniversary Brandon proposed and now we are here. I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with my best friend, and celebrating this day with all of our favourite people!
in his words ...

First of all id like to thank Hinge for making all of this possible. Hinge is where Destiny and I met. Her first words to me were a dig at me being a leafs fan, and strangely enough that gave me such a good feeling about her. Immediately I was hooked on her. We talked nonstop for a few days before we met for the first time. A few days before we met she told me she had something to tell me, and it was that she had kids. I think she was dreading my reaction but honestly I love kids and I always have so it excited me. When it was finally time for our first date I was so nervous. For the hours leading up to it, the drive over, waiting for her in the nose hill parking lot, I was so nervous. But then she parked right next to me and looked over and smiled. Immediately the nerves were gone. We walked and we talked for hours, we talked about our pasts, what we want in our future, we even talked about the possibility of having more kids, and when we were done walking we sat on a bench overlooking downtown Calgary and talked some more. I can’t explain the feeling of being so comfortable with someone the first time you meet them but I knew that night that I had found someone special, and that I was going to marry this girl. This date was actually so incredible for both of us that it is now considered our anniversary. From there things moved quick. We started to date, I was introduced to Maisyn and Kayce, and within 6 months we decided we needed to move in together because we simply couldn’t get enough of each other. I knew all along that i was gonna marry Des, and if you don’t believe me you can ask my mom. That’s the first thing I told her about Des. Since then we’ve been growing as a family and I can honestly say I’ve never been happier, and I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. Destiny and I love each other, but just as importantly we’re patient with each other, we care about eachother and we respect eachother. I can’t wait to marry the love of my life and I look forward for you to join us on this special day!
